How to set good goals for health/healthy lifestyle ?
We need to make sure that our goals are smart goals which means specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely.
Which means we should not just have random vague goals like I wanna loose weight or get fit, rather we should make them smart making it measurable and adding a number or way to track them and putting a timeline to it how much and till when, how we will know if we are getting better or have achieved it.
Some good examples of health goals : (which will help you to set your own)
1. I want to run my first 5k/10k/21k/42k/ultra
2. I want to achieve my personal best for a 5k/10k/21k/42k etc
3. A specific time goals can be I want to do a sub 30 5k/sub 25 5k/sub 60 10k or similar
4. I want to add a healthy salad/smoothie/juice or fruit with one meal daily, 5 times/week
5. I want to loose 2kg/5kg weight in healthy way
6. I want to gain stamina to walk continously for 1 hour/run for 20 mins without stopping
7. I want to develop habit of drinking 1 ltr water every morning at least 5 days a week
8. I want to develop habit to get 7+ hours of uninterupted sleep at least 5 days/week
9. I want to study one new book every 15 days and share what I learned from that in a 5 min video/100 words post
10. I want to bench press 40kg weight easily.
11. I want to do 30 pushups/hold plank for 1 min(count can change based on your current stage)
12. I want to meditate for 10 mins every day 5days/week
13. I want to drop sugar from diet for at least 5 days/week
14. I want to try 10 min yoga per day for 10 continuous days
15. I want to inspire my 5 friends through my health journey and progress
16. I want to spend 10 hours researching and learning more on topic of running/meditation/healthy eating
Now if we see all these goals are measurable and we can track our progress for these type of goals as there is a number attached to it. In the end just add in a date also.
